About the Role
At Hitachi Energy, we are driving the transition towards a sustainable energy future. We are looking for a Team Lead – Technical Lead Engineering to guide and deliver complex engineering projects, ensuring excellence in design, execution, and performance.
In this role, you will lead a team of engineers and technical specialists, overseeing the full lifecycle of engineering-based projects—from concept and design through to implementation, testing, and commissioning. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
Project Engineering Leadership
Lead the design, planning, and execution of engineering projects, including infrastructure, facilities, and equipment.
Develop and communicate detailed project plans, including scope, deliverables, schedules, and milestones.
Oversee the preparation of engineering designs, specifications, and standards.
Ensure effective project controls, including cost estimation, budgeting, and forecasting.
Project Execution & Delivery
Monitor project progress and performance against plans, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation actions.
Coordinate production, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
Ensure timely resolution of operational challenges to minimize delays and maintain project momentum.
Resource & Stakeholder Management
Identify and allocate required resources, including internal teams, materials, equipment, and external contractors.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
Support procurement and vendor selection processes where applicable.
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop a team of professional and para-professional employees.
Set clear goals and performance expectations aligned with business objectives.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure all policies, processes, and procedures are understood and consistently followed.
Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and compliance across all project activities.
Your Background
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
Proven experience in project engineering and delivering complex technical projects.
Previous experience in a leadership or team management role.
Strong knowledge of project planning, cost control, and engineering standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage moderately complex challenges.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
