Oversees pharmacy technician staff functions. Provides technical direction and assists in organizing workflow at the individual pharmacy location. Creates schedules and vacation coverage for technicians. Provides technician job training, development & mentoring; monitors new pharmacy technician progress; and provides recommendations for annual performance evaluations. Provides technical staff leadership resource for problem resolution, technician project management, and quality control/quality improvement activities. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required.
High School Diploma/GED . A minimum of two years’ pharmacy technician experience required. One year prior Mayo Pharmacy Technician II experience preferred.
Other Qualifiations: Completes continuing education necessary for maintenance of certification. Knowledge of pharmacy and medical terminology with ability to read and interpret physician prescriptions/orders. Demonstrated verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Advanced computer skills. Technicians must comply with all applicable institutional policies and AZ State Board of Pharmacy Scope of Practice guidelines, procedures, and regulations.Current
License/Certification: Pharmacy Technician certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Current Pharmacy Technician certification/licensure by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy. Must successfully complete and maintain National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination.
