About the Team

The data governance team oversees Data Quality and Governance operations, ensuring the integrity of item data. The team proactively partners with key organizational teams to empower product data as an asset of the enterprise by assessing product data, implementing data quality rules and requirements, identifying gaps, and providing item-data quality assurance through measurements and metrics to drive internal and external accountability.

The Team Lead is primarily responsible for driving online revenue and traffic growth by overseeing the consistency, accuracy, and readiness of item data. This role leads the day-to-day execution of item lifecycle processes, ensuring timely, compliant, and high-quality product information that enables seamless customer experiences across digital assets. The Team Lead serves as a subject matter expert and key point of coordination between Online Merchandising, Merchandising Operations, and cross-functional business teams to proactively monitor, improve, and govern item data quality standards. The role is responsible for ensuring process adherence, identifying risks to deliverables, escalating issues appropriately, and developing mitigation strategies that align with enterprise goals and strategic initiatives. The Team Lead must possess the ability to assess where processes or data strategies may not optimally support business objectives, recommend scalable solutions, and effectively partner with functional and solution teams to achieve organizational and customer experience goals. The Team Lead will also be responsible for leading and managing a team of 5+ associates. There will be end-to-end accountability for the deliverables and the onus to build a high performing team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

  • People management – team of 5 or more
  • Responsible for day-to-day work allocation and ensuring timely completion by the team members
  • Onboard and train new team members, monitoring deliverables and developing mitigation tactics for data management challenges
  • Serves as a subject matter expert to support Quality initiatives in growth of the online business, inclusive of process improvement and automation efforts.
  • Training and process document expert for the team.
  • Responsible for auditing team member’s work and report accuracy percentage. Work towards achieving individual goals
  • Global Calibration sessions on the detailed product research & RCA Analysis with detailed reports and graphs.
  • Management of product titles and framework involved in creating descriptive titles through effective category specific attributes. Ensures Lowe’s product descrtiption is accurate on the website and troubleshoot arising issues which compromises the quality of product titles.
  • Researches industry best practices regarding item data attributes and provides organizational insights to leadership.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and escalate risks with mitigation plans
  • Partner with offshore and cross-functional teams to establish and continuously improve processes
  • Foster collaboration, morale, and engagement through regular check-ins and support
  • Establish, maintain, and communicate metrics that provide clear visibility to leadership
  • Act as a hands-on leader by actively contributing to execution, mentoring team members, driving problem-solving, and ensuring timely delivery of outcomes
  • Build operational rigor on lines of SLAs, resolution turnaround times, quality of deliverables, communication, alongside delivery of key business KPIs
  • Collaborate with technology teams to modernize tools and support business needs
  • Work horizontally across the Merchandising domain with an enterprise mindset

Years of Experience

  • 7+ years of combined experience in Online/Digital/Site Merchandising teams
  • 5+ Retail industry experience mandatory
  • 2+ People management experience

Education Qualification & Certifications (optional)

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree - Business Administration or related field
