Job Description

As a Production Team Leader, you will be responsible for engaging employees in the wiring and/or mechanical functions of production, coordinating activities in expediting the flow of material, parts, and assemblies between areas of production.

As the Production Team Leader, you will:

  • Manage the assigned area ensuring that safety, quality, production, cost control and & continuous improvement objectives are met while providing technical support and training to employees working in the assigned production areas.
  • Oversee and implement Lean initiatives in the responsible areas.
  • Conduct flash 5 meetings and one-on-one conversations to effectively communicate company policies, objectives, and performance feedback to the workforce in assigned areas.
  • Facilitates cost-effective use of overtime
  • Deliver on-time completion of product produced in the assigned assembly areas
  • Ensure that all material used in the assembly of a job is appropriately charged to the correct job
  • Foster and build strong relationships within workforce in assigned area
  • Maintains a clean and well-organized work area at all times.
  • Coordinate the final quality of the breaker, releasing breaker to and interfacing with quality inspection personnel, providing feedback on quality to concerned employees
  • Oversees quality inspection of all breakers and signing off on them before being released to mechanical assembly
  • Reviews daily shortage reports and provides feedback to the supervisor on potential upcoming parts shortages
  • Fills in for production as needed in assembly process
  • Provides cross functionality & helps handling the other product coordinator’s tasks
  • Communicating weekly reviews with the supervisor
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Mechanical or Electrical discipline with a minimum of 2 years of related experience as a production assembler OR High school diploma GED with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the mechanical/electrical field.
  • PC knowledge required
