About the Role

The Luminos Project is a non-medical, short-stay residential service for young people aged 16-24 experiencing thoughts of suicide. Designed to have a home like environment. It focuses on helping young people build hope, resilience, and practical strategies for their future.

The Team Lead position is a key service delivery role responsible for achieving outcomes to clients through our Youth Suicide Sanctuary - Luminos.

As a Team Lead you will play an important role in supporting a team of Youth Suicide Counsellors, Intentional Peer Workers and Volunteers. You will provide your knowledge and expertise in suicide prevention and youth services to drive a culture of saftey and support to young people who access the service.

Your role requires coaching and mentoring of your team to ensure positive outcomes for young people and performance indicators are achieved within the resources available.

This is a permanent full time position, working 76 hours per fortnight, between Monday to Friday. This position is based primarily at the Luminos site in Subiaco with frequent travel to our Northbridge corporate office and other sites.

What we’re looking for

The successful applicant will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • Experience in provision of clinical services to clients.
  • Undergraduate or post-graduate qualification in an allied health field (including counselling/psychotherapy, social work or psychology).
  • Ability to receive AHPRA registration as a psychologist, PACFA-registered counsellor or other relevant clinician.
  • Experience in working with clients with suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
  • Ability to lead a successful team within a mental health &/or youth suicide service.
  • Experience in direct service delivery to address client needs in a mental health &/or youth suicide service.
  • Confidence in managing for the achievement of client outcomes in a mental health &/or youth suicide service.
  • Strong ability to respond in a timely manner to address competing client needs.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including strong skills in negotiation and consultation.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident public speaking and presentation style.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of diversity and social inclusion- including gender, sexuality, disability, cultural, age, and linguistic diversity and Aboriginal culture.
