The opportunity

The Land Restoration team are looking for their
next people leader. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, the Team Lead and
enables the Land Restoration team to fulfil critical project deliverables,
ensuring that HLW meets or exceeds business and strategic plans. The role
provides day-to-day management including budget and project accountability,
coaching, and mentoring team members to deliver programs and projects to
stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and coordinating work activities & resources to deliver agreed business results and targets
  • Assisting cross-collaborative projects by facilitating workload planning for the team
  • Supporting the Portfolio Manager in portfolio business planning, reports, targets, and budgets
  • Setting clear and measurable goals for team members and regularly reviewing performance, providing constructive feedback
  • Ensuring accurate forecasting of labour, suppliers, and budgets and allocating resources ensuring that utilization is maximized
  • Managing team priorities and consulting with stakeholders to ensure delivery within required timeframes
  • Ensuring project managers are capturing and formally varying changes to scope, schedule, and budgets

About you

Ideally, you will share our vision to lead the change that will deliver an environment for future generations to thrive. To be successful in this role, you will have all or many of the following requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering, Environment, Business, or relevant field
  • Excellent understanding of project management processes, strategies, and methods
  • Prior Experience managing on-ground environmental projects
  • People management experience and leadership ability to motivate and influence team members to ensure all deliverables are met and performed to a high standard
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong business and financial acumen with an ability to understand wider business operations
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
