Job Description

This position is directly responsible for the planning, supervision, co-ordination and record keeping of all I&C maintenance activities on the Combined Cycle Power Plant. He is responsible for arranging spare parts & consumables required for performing maintenance activities. This position is based in Bhikki, Punjab, Pakistan.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinates with Operations and other departments for I&C maintenance activities.
  • Perform FMEA of equipment, instrument, valves and spare parts and prepare PMs, PdMs plans as per the RPN scores in accordance with OEM, Maintenance Guidelines.
  • Assigns preventive and corrective maintenance jobs as per the direction of Maintenance Manager. Supervises and co-ordinates activities of maintenance staff.
  • Supervise the work and provide guidance, in consultation with Maintenance Manager, to ensure that all the maintenance activities are carried out effectively. Advises Technical Staff in carrying out the jobs in safe, professional and most efficient method. Inspect completed work on plant device.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports and compose correspondence relative to work.
  • Acquire considerable knowledge of the process and the relevant mechanical, instrument & control and electrical system throughout the plant and apply the same to trouble shoot problems and lead the maintenance team in resolving the issue.
  • Carries out the root cause analysis for any fault or failure or trip in coordination with other departments and under instructions from the management.
  • Helps Maintenance Manager in planning and scheduling outage works with due regard to annual scheduled maintenance plan. Execute and complete planned outages as scheduled with coordination of other departments.
  • Trains subordinates on plant processes, control system, plant instrumentation, preventive and corrective maintenances regime.
  • Execute work order through CMMS and coordinate with I&C Technicians for job completion and technical matters. Verify planning and actual manpower, services and material information, and review failure reporting and failure codes in work orders before closing. Attach any relevant record with work orders for proper equipment history.
  • Assess plant needs for spare parts & supplies and generate purchase requisitions. Review and approve quotations considering all technical aspects. Co-ordinate with Stores and Procurement for stock inventory ordering & replenishment.
  • To understand EH&S risks / hazards and environmental / legislative aspect / impacts related to work activities.
  • To acquire adequate knowledge of EHS/Quality/AMS policies & procedures and ensure compliance.
  • Evaluates, plans and actively participates in plant housekeeping. To be responsible for housekeeping of his assigned plant area and participate in Zonal monthly housekeeping inspections.
  • Assists and co-ordinates with EHS Manager/Supervisor with all EHS activities including implementation of policies/procedures, inspections and audits.
  • Any other job related to O&M Scope assigned by the Management.
  • To carry out and complete all EHS and Quality related Tasks and trainings within the assigned target date.
  • Complete the process of CP Authorization and follow the responsibilities assigned in SWP & authorities defined in Authorization certificate.
  • Carry out pre-use checks for all tools, equipment and PPEs prior to every use.
  • Participation in at least 03 EHS activities in a year. These activities could be Hazard Hunt, Risk Reduction Project, EHS committee member housekeeping walk down etc.
  • Conduct EHS Risk assessments of routine and non-routine work activities and implement controls as needed/assigned.
  • Ensure his visitors / contractors induction process is followed as per site induction procedure.

Required Qualifications

  • BE/B.Sc. in Engineering Electronics/Electrical or Mechatronics from any recognized University
  • Minimum five years of experience as Instrumentation and Control Engineer.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Desired Characteristics

  • Preference will be given to the candidate having GE Mark VIe, Emerson Ovation & GE Fanuc RX3i Control System experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization.
