As Team Lead Inbound Transport & Import (m/f/d), you will lead and manage a team of Inbound Transport Planners to ensure the effective execution of inbound transport and import operations. You will oversee daily operational activities, ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards, and act as the key escalation point between freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders.
You will play a critical role in maintaining stable, compliant, and cost-efficient inbound flows to warehouses, customer locations, and hub/tollgate facilities.
Lead and manage the inbound transport and import team to achieve operational KPIs and process efficiency targets.
Oversee inbound transport planning and import operational flows across ocean, air, rail, and road transport channels.
Select, evaluate, and manage freight forwarders, transport providers, and customs brokers.
Ensure stable, compliant, and cost-effective inbound and import operations.
Monitor operational performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and process excellence within the team.
Provide regular performance reports, risk assessments, and improvement plans to the Business Manager Materials Management.
Authorize invoices related to freight forwarding and customs brokerage services.
Train, coach, and develop Inbound Transport & Import personnel.
Conduct regular team meetings and support effective stakeholder communication across departments
4–6 years of relevant experience in inbound transport, import operations, or supply chain/logistics management.
Proven experience in team leadership and people management.
Strong understanding of material flows, import processes, and transport channel management.
Solid knowledge of import/export regulations and customs compliance requirements.
Experience managing multiple stakeholders across logistics, operations, and external service providers.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
