GHD has an excellent opportunity for a Team Lead Hydrology/Business Development Specialist in our Irvine, Long Beach, Los Angeles, or San Diego office. This role leverages strong regional client relationships to win new work, delivers large multidisciplinary hydrogeology and water projects, and manages and mentors a team of direct reports.

As floods, droughts, and storms intensify, communities need reliable groundwater and water supply solutions. In this role, you will lead hydrogeological studies that guide well siting, groundwater development, and long-term water resource planning. You will build client relationships across the region, lead proposals, and win new work that grows our water practice. You will also manage interdisciplinary teams that carry projects from investigation through design, drawing on GHD’s global water expertise to deliver outcomes that support communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead hydrogeological studies by selecting boring and well locations, overseeing geologic and geophysical data collection and interpretation, and contributing to well proposals.
• Serve as a seller-doer who builds client relationships and wins new work.
• Manage new and established projects from start to finish.
• Lead and mentor a team of three to five direct reports.
• Lead proposal development for new pursuits.
• Manage the delivery of interdisciplinary projects.
• Perform senior-level quality assurance and quality control reviews.

Education

• A bachelor’s degree in geology or hydrogeology is required.
• A master’s degree in geology or hydrogeology is preferred.

Experience

• At least 15 years of relevant experience is required.
• A California Professional Geologist license is required.
• Certification as a Certified Hydrogeologist is preferred.
• Strong client relationships in the region are required.

Salary Range: $112,000-$187,000 based on location and experience
