Job Description

Why Patients Need You

Everything we do, every day, is driven by an unwavering commitment to the patients, healthcare providers, and customers who depend on us. In Global Commercial Strategy (GCS), we translate science of R&D into value for patients and Pfizer — from early development through launch, growth, and LOE lifecycle. GCS serves as the strategic engine and commercial voice across the asset lifecycle — shaping asset positioning and evidence generation, leading global launches, and driving sustained access and brand performance through market and payer insights, broad access, & commercial rigor. We take pride in shaping how innovative medicines reach the people who need them most, and ensuring they are accessible, understood, and valued across every market. Our success is anchored in the following Pfizer Blueprint values: Science, Technology, Transformation and Colleagues. Whether you are defining strategy, managing brands at different lifecycle, or building the capabilities that power our commercial engine, your work directly shapes patient outcomes and the long-term success of Pfizer's portfolio.

The Senior Director, Team Lead, GCS Portfolio Marketing Group is a newly created leadership role within the Global Commercial Strategy (GCS) organization, reporting to the Sr. Director, Portfolio Marketing & Operations Lead. This role is responsible for building and leading the centralized execution team that serves as the shared delivery engine across GCS brands. In a transformed, AI-enabled GCS operating environment, this leader will manage a team of ~6-8 colleagues to support brand execution across Core (brands reaching major LCM milestones) and Opportunistic (revenue & growth brands) brand categories.

This person will own day-to-day resource prioritization and capacity management, serve as the primary operational interface between the central resources and brand leads, and drive continuous improvement in how GCS delivers quality output with efficiency and speed. This role is central to GCS's transformation goal: a leaner, AI-enabled GCS delivering strategic impact at scale.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of ~6-8 centrally resourced portfolio marketing colleagues
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team with deep cross-brand commercial capabilities, able to flex across disease areas and brand categories
  • Set individual and team priorities, provide coaching and performance feedback, and create a culture of accountability, agility, and continuous learning
  • Foster a growth mindset and openness to AI-enabled ways of working, supporting colleagues through the transition from dedicated to centralized execution models

Resource Prioritization & Capacity Management:

  • Serve as the central orchestrator of centralized resource allocation, matching team capacity to brand needs based on brand categories, milestone urgency, and strategic priority
  • Maintain a real-time view of team workload and capacity across brands; proactively identify and resolve conflicts or gaps in resource coverage
  • Partner with brand leads (across Evolve, Grow, and Maintain categories) to forecast demand, set expectations, and ensure smooth on/off-boarding of centralized support
  • Establish and maintain clear operating norms, intake processes, and prioritization criteria for portfolio requests

Portfolio Marketing Oversight:

  • Oversee delivery of the full scope of centralized portfolio marketing services, including: content production, market research & ATU synthesis, congress & MedEd planning, preparation, and logistics, RWE compendia, training delivery, competitive intelligence, etc.
  • Ensure consistent quality of output across all centralized engagements, with clear accountability and delivery timelines
  • Drive standardization of processes and tools across the GCS Portfolio Marketing team to enable efficiency and scalability
  • Champion the adoption of AI-enabled tools and workflows to augment team output and reduce manual effort

Brand & Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary interface between the pooled resources team and GCS brand leads, ensuring pool support is strategically aligned to each brand's lifecycle stage and commercial priorities
  • Coordinate with US and International (ICO/EMCO) counterparts to align on shared needs and avoid duplication of effort across markets
  • Partner with the Sr. Director, Portfolio Marketing & Operations Lead, and GCS LT on resource planning, capacity modeling, andstaffing evolution as the GCS transformation progresses
  • Represent the GCS Portfolio Marketing team in senior stakeholder forums and leadership updates

Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, & Model Evolution:

  • Develop and track KPIs for GCS Portfolio Marketing Group performance, including quality, turnaround time, utilization, and brand satisfaction
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance ways of working and reduce friction in brand-pool interfaces
  • Support the ongoing evolution of the brand-tiered staffing model, including transitions between tiers (e.g., brands moving from Evolve to Maintain) and the operationalization of AI-powered execution
  • Provide input to planning, role design, and the future-state operating model as GCS continues to transform

AI-Enabled Ways of Working:

  • Set expectations for AI-enabled ways of working across the GCS Portfolio Marketing Group, ensuring tools and workflows are embedded into day-to-day centralized execution.
  • Champion responsible adoption of AI-enabled tools to improve speed, quality, consistency, and scalability of portfolio marketing outputs.
  • Partner with GCS leadership, brand leads, and enabling functions to identify opportunities to embed AI into repeatable workflows, templates, delivery models, and performance management routines.
  • Build team capability and confidence in compliant, AI-augmented commercial execution through coaching, best-practice sharing, and reinforcement of quality standards.
  • Use performance insights, stakeholder feedback, and team learnings to continuously improve AI-enabled ways of working across the centralized model.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing, commercial operations, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams, including managing across levels in a matrixed environment
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical brand marketing across lifecycle stages (launch, growth, LOE/near-LOE)
  • Experience managing shared services, centralized teams, or resource/capacity planning functions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of commercial execution functions: content production, market research, congress/MedEd, RWE, competitive intelligence, and/or training delivery
  • Experience working across US and International commercial organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage resource prioritization and workload allocation across multiple concurrent priorities
  • Comfort operating in an AI-enabled or AI-augmented environment; experience with AI tools in a commercial setting is a strong plus
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills; ability to build alignment across brand leads with competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills — able to translate operational complexity into clear priorities for senior leaders and field teams alike
  • Track record of driving process improvement and operational efficiency in a commercial context
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity and lead teams through organizational transformation
  • Discretion, sound judgment, and trustworthiness in handling confidential or sensitive organizational matters
