Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that team aligns work with business priorities.
  • Works with technical lead and product owners to ensure staff alignment is appropriate to address work demand. Identifies and clears roadblocks for the team.
  • Makes technical contributions without becoming a bottleneck for the team.
  • Collaborates with the Product Owner to set team’s priorities.
  • Aligns the team’s work to Product Owner priorities and ensures efficient delivery.
  • Partners effectively with the Product Owner to manage scope and deliverables for the technical side of the product roadmap.
  • Works with technical lead to evaluate individual performance.
  • Conducts regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews.
  • Identifies single points of failure in alignment of people, knowledge, or systems, and works to resolve them.
  • Communicates timeline, scope, and technical concerns to upper management.
  • Collaborates with peers to deliver cross-team projects.
  • Identifies areas of strategic technical debt and provides cost/benefits analysis for eliminating this debt, as well as suggested timeline for how to prioritize it.
  • Develops, reviews, and recommends practices and methods to improve workflow, communication and collaboration for stakeholders.
  • Assists leadership with special projects.
  • As a member of the leadership team, demonstrates through decisions, actions, and words a commitment to OverDrive’s mission, sustainability, and community outreach initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 2 years of experience in management leading technical teams.
  • Experience must include working with the following programming languages: Swift, Kotlin, Brightscript, Cordova, Vue.js, and Nuxt.js.
Fully remote position.Salary: $164,670/year.May work from any location in the U.S.
