Your Opportunity:

An opportunity exists for a Team Lead to join our Financial Reporting team. As the lead member of the Pune team, you will develop and mentor Accounting Technicians and Analysts involved in the day-to-day operations of financial reporting as well as reviewing and maintaining various balance sheet account reconciliations. Located in our Pune office, it is a hybrid position and the shift time will be Monday – Friday, 1:00 pm – 10:00 pm IST.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor accounting technicians and analysts
  • Ensure staff are fully trained and equipped to perform in a high volume, centralized environment
  • Contribute to hiring within the Pune Financial Reporting team and determine the best allocation of work given the resources available
  • Review journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations, which may include Bank Reconciliations, Other Liabilities, and/or Intercompany.
  • Prepare complex journal entries and quarterly working papers
  • Assist and support in the 5-day period end close process including identifying any issues and the action required to correct them to ensure that our financial statements are properly stated.
  • Provide and maintain information as required for external disclosure
  • Answer queries from Internal and External auditors
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, practices, procedures
  • Ensure key controls for financial reporting related to Stantec’s SOX and internal control program are effective and operational
  • Assist in the review and implementation of various business process improvement
  • Assist with updates and changes to financial practices and procedures including corporate forms

Qualifications:

  • Accounting Degree/ MBA 10 – 14 years post qualification experience working in a fast-paced accounting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor and support team members with over 4 years supervisory experience
  • Experience in a multinational company environment
  • A thorough working knowledge of full cycle accounting. Understanding of IFRS and specifically IFRS 16 would be an asset
  • Proven interpersonal and leadership skills with a full range of staff from administrative to senior leadership
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple competing priorities and firm deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, including written and oral English language competency
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Oracle or other large Enterprise systems and/or Blackline would be an asset
