The Opportunity: 

Medcan is seeking aTeam Lead, Diagnostic Imaging to provide day-to-day operational and clinical leadership for the Diagnostic Imaging team.Reporting to the Manager,ClinicServicesOakville, this role supports efficient department workflows, staff development, equipment and inventory oversight, and the delivery of safe, high-quality patientexperience.

As a working Team Lead, you will provide direct clinical support as needed whilepartnering with the Manager on coaching, recruitment, performancemanagementand continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a full-time role scheduled Monday toSaturdayduring regular clinichours(6:30am – 6pm)for an8.5 hourshift.Our Oakville clinic islocatedat 2275 Upper Middle Road E. There is free parking on site.

WhatYou’llDo

Clinic Operations

  • Coordinate daily schedules, staff assignments,workflowsand break coverage.

  • Assess patient volumes andallocatestaff,equipmentand clinical space effectively.

  • Adjust workflows to support safe,timelyand efficient patient care.

  • Monitor team productivity and address day-to-day operational challenges.

  • Prepare patients and perform diagnostic imaging examinations within your professional scope.

  • Accurately document and process patient information.

  • Review relevant patient history and collaborate with radiologists,physiciansand interdisciplinary partners.

  • Work closely with the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging and Manager, Clinic Services (Oakville) on continuous process improvement and quality assurance initiatives.

Quality,Equipmentand Inventory:

  • Ensure departmental practices align with organizational policies and regulatory standards.

  • Identifyopportunities to improve quality,efficiencyandthe patientexperience.

  • Support the development and maintenance of policies, standard operatingproceduresand training materials.

  • Oversee equipment maintenance,troubleshootingand quality-control activities.

  • Coordinate departmental supplies, ordering,invoicingand vendor relationships.

  • RepresentOakvilleDiagnostic Imaging on relevant committees andquality-improvementinitiatives.

Teamand Patient Experience

  • Serve as a key point of contact for patient concerns and help resolve challenging interactions.

  • Lead team meetings and communicate operational and organizational updates.

  • Promote a collaborative,respectfuland accountable team environment.

  • Provide team members with coaching,mentorshipandtimelyfeedback.

  • Support staff development plans, performancediscussionsand annual reviews in partnership with the Manager.

  • Engage the team in workflow improvements and patient-experience initiatives.

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Help assess staffing requirements and support recruitment activities.

  • Participate in resume reviews,interviewsand candidate assessments.

  • Support the onboarding,orientationand training of new team members.

WhatYou’llNeed:

  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Medical Imaging Technologist infunctionsuch as sonography, X-Ray,Mammographyor other relevant modalities.
  • Previousleadership, team-leador operational coordination experience.
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to quality and patient safety.
  • Excellent communication,organizationand time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal,coachingand client-service abilities.
  • Experience troubleshooting imaging equipment and managing departmental inventory.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a positiveteamculture and support staff development.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Position Pay Range

$73,699.00 - $101,335.00 CAD annually

Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications within the role's compensation grade. Medcan's compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills, market value, and internal equity. The above range pertains solely to the base compensation and is not inclusive of additional compensation details such as perks, benefits, and potential bonuses or incentives.
