The Role

As a Team Lead, you will provide both technical leadership and operational oversight, ensuring your team delivers exceptional results in the Controls and Process Automation space. You will guide your team through complex projects, mentor and develop talent, and maintain a culture of safety, quality and engagement. This role combines strategic thinking, hands-on leadership, and operational excellence to drive success for both clients and the organization.

This role supports our Northeast region process and manufacturing customers, including leading food & beverage and consumer goods producers. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our high-performance standards within a fast-paced, precision-driven process manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Develop: Inspire a team of automation professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability, and growth.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide high-level technical direction, quality control, and conceptual expertise for automation projects, ensuring compliance with standards and safety requirements.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage resources, track team performance, and maintain efficient, organized, work environments.
  • Engagement and Communication: Run daily huddles, team meetings, and one-on-ones to keep your team aligned and motivated.
  • Performance and Growth: Conduct performance reviews, support career development, and contribute to technical training initiatives.
  • Culture and Experience: Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture.
  • Business Support: Offer technical input for proposals and client solutions when needed.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical and automation system design (PLC, HMI,
  • RTU, SCADA, Networks, etc.).
  • 3+ years of proven success in client relationship management.
  • 5+ years of experience working in or with process manufacturing clients (e.g., food & beverage, consumer goods, or chemical industries).
  • Strong background in Controls or Process Automation, including electrical design.
  • Familiarity with IIoT and its application in industrial processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing teams.
  • Operational management skills including resource forecasting, allocation & utilization tracking.
  • Experience with performance management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage complex situations and deliver results under pressure.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel as required.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
  • Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds.
