What is the Team Lead - Collections?

The Team Lead – Collections (Central Region) is a critical leadership role responsible for driving receivables recovery, overdue management, and cash-flow optimization across the Central Region. The role ensures disciplined execution of Jazz’s collection strategies while maintaining strong governance, customer engagement, and compliance with internal financial controls.

The role reports directly to the Stream Head Collections and has direct supervisory responsibility over Collection Officers and OB / Field Resources. with an extended team comprising Sales, Credit Control, Billing, Finance, Legal, and CX stakeholders.

What does Team Lead – Collections do?

Key responsibilities

Collections Execution & Portfolio Management

  • Drive end-to-end receivables recovery to achieve assigned monthly and quarterly targets
  • Manage current, overdue, and chronic aging through structured follow-ups and escalations
  • Implement approved dunning, blocking, suspension, and restoration actions
  • Execute focused recovery plans for high-value and high-risk accounts
  • Oversee field, OB, and third-party collection resources to ensure productivity and compliance

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to collection SOPs, DOA matrix, and financial governance frameworks
  • Maintain complete documentation of recovery actions and customer commitments
  • Coordinate with Legal and Finance on settlements, litigations, and special asset recoveries
  • Ensure zero audit observations related to collection process deviations

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Coordinate with Sales, Credit Control, Billing, Finance, and CX teams to unblock payments
  • Act as regional focal point for collection escalations and risk updates
  • Lead, coach, and performance-manage collection resources to drive accountability

Key Deliverables

  • Achievement of assigned collection targets with improved cash flow
  • Reduction in overdue and aged receivables and controlled provisioning impact
  • Sustained improvement in DSO through effective execution
  • Accurate daily, weekly, and monthly collection and aging reports
  • Timely closure of disputes and billing issues
  • Documented recovery plans for high-risk accounts
  • Improved team productivity and compliance outcomes

Requirements

What are we looking for and what does it require to be Team Lead - Collections?

Experience and Educational requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline
  • 4–6 years of experience in Collections, Credit Control, or Receivables Management
  • Experience in Telecom, Financial Services, or large enterprise portfolios preferred
  • Prior team-handling experience is an added advantage

Soft skills and technical skills required

  • Strong understanding of receivables management and aging analysis
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, and reporting)
  • Working proficiency in SQL (recommended) for data extraction, validation, and analysis
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint (recommended) for management reporting and presentations
  • Familiarity with CRM, Billing, and ERP systems
  • Strong analytical, data-interpretation, and problem-solving skills
