
The Team Lead for the Clinical Social Work is responsible for the day-to-day activities and oversight of the inpatient and outpatient Social Work team at CT Children’s. The Team Lead, under the guidance and support of the Clinical Manager, will provide leadership and direction around scheduling, clinical supervision and onsite daily operations, while looking strategically at how workflow and process improvement can optimize and improve the role of Social Work and patient/family care through the institution.
This position will establish a leader available to offer daily supervision and case support for all inpatient and outpatient team social workers. Identify challenges and systems issues that need to be elevated to Manager and Center Leadership. The Team Lead will work to improve Social Work process and workflow through EPIC documentation optimization, streamlined assessments, and standardized work. Lead will focus on identification of opportunities for Social Work representation hospital wide in committees and workgroups.
Position Specific Role Responsibilities
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Lead will provide day to day supervision of all inpatient/outpatient social workers. Monthly team support of team members through engagement activities, team supervision, and staff meetings. Quarterly/yearly performance evaluations will be completed by Team Lead with input from Manager.
Education Required: Masters of Social Work from accredited University
Experience Required: A minimum of 5 years of pediatric hospital based Social Work experience. Strong clinical skills and proven effectiveness at clinical case consultation and patient advocacy.
License Required: Current/Active LCSW from state of CT
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Team Lead will have strong understanding of EPIC documentation, On Call requirements, policies and procedures relevant to Social Work including DCF Abuse/Neglect/Custody, PT Rights and Responsibilities, Local and State resources for at risk/vulnerable families, risk assessment and safety planning, family/individual brief intervention/coping and support, as well as other hospital standards of care.
