Job Description

We are excited to be seeking a Civil Engineering Team Lead to lead the civil design execute, monitor and control deadlines, manage civil design team members to deliver client deliverables and provide expertise on site as required, management of sub-contractors and produce tender SoW docs and BOQ’s.

The role looks after Power Projects nationally and is a full-time permanent role based in Brisbane working out of head office in Milton.

What you’ll do

• Deliver design packages so that they comply with and meet expectations from clients, communities, environmental management requirements and other legislative requirements

• Deliver on time and high quality

• Manage team members to deliver packages of work

• Provide support to the design manager in terms of reporting, RFI’s and variations

• Assist with the development of a project budget and monitor and control project costs

• Ensure design is checked thoroughly and follow the Quality Control Process

• Provide expert technical advice to the Project Delivery and wider program teams

• Provide input to reporting on project performance and progress, including development of solutions to issues that compromise attainment of agreed performance targets

• Attend initial planning site visits

What we’re looking for

• Qualifications in relevant Engineering Discipline

• 15+ years’ project delivery experience within the Power Industry delivering substation and transmission civil design

• Leadership and management of team members, resourcing, timesheets and training

• Experience in the use of CAD packages such as, Micro Station, AutoCAD.

• Knowledge of the major components which comprise HV transmission and distribution networks such as transmission lines, access tracks, drainage, roads, fencing, sediment and erosion, oil containment and management

• Advanced knowledge of civil bulk earthworks, drainage and oil containment

• Advanced knowledge of survey, Geotech and integration of the data into 3D models
