Team Lead, ARC Lab
Scope and Purpose of Position:
Coordinate daily operations within an assigned production area. Assist with training and coaching of staff support KPI’s according to department work instructions.
Essential Functions:
• Ensure all supplies needed for the shift are in the dept. at beginning of shift, provide additional supplies as needed
• Have a brief team meeting at beginning of shift to discuss KPI updates and set up associates in their area of responsibility for the shift
• Prepare a department roster showing where each associate is working and production goals for shift. Provide to your shift manager
• Provide training to associates new to the department and/or level
• Ensure all calibrations are being done at beginning of shift and verifications of machinery are done
• Report malfunctioning equipment to maintenance team
• Evaluate breakage hourly throughout shift. Advise Manager if too high or trending
• Supply end of shift production numbers showing how many jobs produced by each team and total jobs completed
• Reassign associates during shift if necessary to improve efficiency. Consult with Management if necessary
• Troubleshoot and answer questions related to production (contact or update manager depending on questions)
• Help distribute company memos, as deemed appropriate by lead and management
• Coordinate with manager on OT needs (Manager will assign associates)
• Lead fills in on production floor where needed for absenteeism
• Coordinate with lab manager WI’s (ISO) education to new associates and/or when a new responsibility is assigned
• Complete department walk through checklist at end of shift, sign when all completed, and provide to Manager
• Communicate with associates in a professional and appropriate manner at all times
• Issues with Associates, including insubordination, violation of policy, etc. are to be immediately reported to a manager to resolve
• Abide by all company policies including safety policies
• Attend all required training sessions and meetings as directed by Management
• Mentor and coach other associates on quality and optical standards as needed
• Practice and comply with all requirements of our Quality Management System (QMS), prescribed safety and hazardous materials handling procedures, and Federal/State laws regulating hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal
• Other duties assigned
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED required/or minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• ABO Certification preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain all equipment to ensure effective operation
• Multitask for maximum process efficiency
• Ability to operate all ARC equipment
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a record of continuously increased responsibility
• Minimum 1 year of related manufacturing experience preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Experience working with structured procedures and processes
• Ability to read and comprehend English instructions, correspondence, and/or memos is required, as is the capacity to write similar correspondence relaying opportunities or findings
• Skill to effectively present information in one-on-one and group settings is necessary
• Bilingual ability, particularly in Spanish, is desirable
