We are currently looking for Team Lead - Aquatics to join our team of committed professionals. This Full-Time Contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham, location in Sudbury,
Under the leadership of the Branch Manager, the Team Lead is responsible for executing the planning and development of programs and services according to YMCA policies, procedures, and standards and ensuring participant satisfaction.
START DATE: May 20, 2026
LOCATION: Sudbury, ON
RATE OF PAY: $21.63/- Hourly
HOURS: 40 Hours / Weekly
Major Responsibilities
• Provide leadership on the pool deck during the aquatic program schedule.
• Coordinate and schedule activities, programs and special events
• Respond to inquiries regarding programs promptly
• Be a positive role model for all program participants
• Participate in recruitment and hiring process including job postings, interviews and reference checks
• Provide leadership in staff onboarding, including orientation, training, and mentorship
• Management of course creation, registration and waitlists
• Communication with program participant guardians
• Complete incident reports for submission to the supervisor
• Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed in a timely manner
• Incorporate SAM Standards into daily responsibilities
• Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization
Qualifications
• Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
• National Lifeguard certification (NL) in good standing
• YMCA Swim Instructor Certification YMCA Swim instructor Trainer and/or Lifesaving Society Instructor and examiner preferred
• Aquafit instruction preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a leadership role
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced computer skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
• Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
