PacArctic, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Team Lead with a Top-Secret security clearance to support Pac and our government customer in Winchester, VA.

Koniag is seeking an experienced Research Analyst Team Lead to support the FBI’s Enterprise Vetting Center (EVC). The Research Analyst Team Lead will provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and quality oversight to a team of research analysts performing critical vetting and analytical activities in support of the FBI’s mission.

This position combines hands-on research and analytical expertise with team leadership and mentorship. The Team Lead will review and validate the work of junior analysts, ensure the accuracy and completeness of research findings and reports, help resolve complex analytical issues, and promote consistent adherence to established procedures, quality standards, and production requirements.

The ideal candidate is an experienced research analyst and proven team leader who can effectively manage high-volume workloads while maintaining accuracy, quality, timeliness, and confidentiality. The Team Lead will serve as a resource for analysts, helping them navigate complex research challenges and develop the skills necessary to successfully perform their mission.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of Research Analysts supporting FBI EVC operations.
  • Review and validate analyst work products, research findings, reports, and conclusions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established standards.
  • Conduct and support derogatory information assessments, background research, and personnel vetting activities.
  • Manage and prioritize complex, high-volume workloads while ensuring team members meet established production and quality requirements.
  • Monitor team performance and workload to ensure assignments are completed accurately and within established timelines.
  • Identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, or errors in research findings and report packages and work with analysts to resolve them.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to analysts to improve the quality, efficiency, and consistency of their work.
  • Coach and mentor junior analysts, helping them strengthen research methodologies, analytical judgment, report writing, and overall job performance.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for analysts working through complex or challenging research issues.
  • Assist analysts in identifying appropriate research approaches and resolving issues encountered during the vetting process.
  • Communicate complex analytical information clearly and effectively to team members, program leadership, and management.
  • Escalate significant issues, trends, or potential risks to appropriate program leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance research processes, workflows, and team performance.
  • Help ensure team members follow established procedures, policies, quality standards, and security requirements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive, personally identifiable, law enforcement-sensitive, and/or classified information in accordance with applicable policies and security regulations.
  • Collaborate with other Team Leads, supervisors, and program leadership to promote consistency and continuity across EVC operations.
  • Support onboarding, training, and development of new and existing analysts.
  • Serve as a positive role model and promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, quality, and mission focus.

What You’ll Bring:

  • All mandatory qualifications required of an EVC Research Analyst.
  • Two or more years of experience supporting the FBI Enterprise Vetting Center (EVC).
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and validating the work of junior analysts.
  • Experience conducting or supporting derogatory information assessments, background checks, personnel vetting, or related research activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-volume workloads while maintaining quality, accuracy, and established timelines.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies or errors in research findings and report packages.
  • Experience providing constructive feedback and performance guidance to team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex information to analysts, leadership, and management.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to resolve issues involving research findings, processes, and team performance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment while managing competing priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive or classified information in accordance with applicable security regulations, policies, and procedures.

Clearance Requirement:

  • Top Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience serving in a lead, senior analyst, supervisory, or mentoring capacity.
  • Extensive experience supporting FBI EVC operations or other federal personnel vetting programs.
  • Experience with high-volume background investigations, personnel security, investigative research, or national security-related analytical activities.
  • Experience training and onboarding new analysts.
  • Experience conducting quality reviews or peer reviews of analytical work products.
  • Experience identifying process improvements that increase efficiency while maintaining or improving quality.
  • Familiarity with FBI systems, vetting processes, and applicable policies and procedures.
