The team lead role is a "Player-Coach" role designed to drive growth through personal high-value account management while serving as a subject matter expert for the pod. This role focuses on leading by example, sharing best practices, and elevating the team’s collective sales strategy without direct people management responsibilities. This role combines client account management, and business development to contribute to the overall financial goal of the pod. The primary goal is to drive significant revenue growth, foster strong, long-term client relationships, and to act as a subject matter expert in the pod to lend leadership support.

Team lead

  • Acts as a peer-coach to Specialist, Client Partnership, sharing sales strategies for clients and prospects to help the team meet collective growth targets.
  • Serves as a champion for best practices, supports the onboarding of new pod members on Randstad’s sales methodology and tools.
  • Fosters a high-energy, collaborative environment by modeling accountability and a growth mindset.
  • Collaborates with leadership (practice manager/pod director) to align pod activities with business strategy and operational goals.
  • Identifies process bottlenecks and suggests workflow improvements to enhance the pod’s overall efficiency.
  • Subject matter expert/First escalation point: Assists peers with client escalations to help secure client partnerships.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), track sales results, and prepare detailed reports for the Market Director on team performance, market trends, and forecasts.
  • Identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement within the client development process and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Escalation Point: Act as the first point of escalation for complex client issues, assisting the team in conflict resolution and securing key client relationships.

Business Development/Revenue Generation

  • Manage, qualify, and maintain a database of clients and prospects that is aligned to the business opportunity in the designated market or segment by following a disciplined sales process to increase the probability of winning and retaining clients including calls, visits, emails, and social network connections.
  • Meet with clients and potential clients to obtain orders for services and/or add onto existing assignments.
  • Sell the value of Randstad services and the Randstad App to support customers in achieving their business goals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers, prospects, and other lines of business to drive profitable growth and grow the percentage of accounts with other LOBs.
  • Maintain the required number of active and prospect clients needed in your database to meet sales objectives.
  • Meet established daily /weekly productivity goals including weekly connect activities and pre-set visit goals.
  • Manage clients throughout the joint hiring process in the pursuit of closing deals monthly and weekly.
  • Manage the profitability of your business including volume and pricing and ensure maximum client share
  • Work with team members regarding maximization of sales margin per job order or solution depending upon contract terms and details specific to the client.
  • Mitigate risks by ensuring compliance with Randstad policies and ESA
  • Manage relationships with current clients to identify future needs and provide thought leadership to assist in their daily operations
  • Support client operations by providing top quality service and promptly investigate and address any talent issues or client concerns.
  • Negotiate candidate pay rates and client bill rates.

Talent Management & Care and Client Satisfaction

  • Identify, analyze and resolve operational problems that impact the effectiveness of the portfolio. Coordinate and direct work activities to effectively meet client specific goals, objectives and Service Level Agreements.
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients to anticipate, assess and interpret human resource needs and business challenges.
  • Collaborate with appropriate internal stakeholders to ensure delivery is being implemented for new and existing accounts assigned to the portfolio, including involvement in new account implementations.
  • Develop continuous improvement strategies to achieve the highest levels of quality and workforce optimization. Implement innovative strategies to drive peak performance at all times, and sustain high client satisfaction levels.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and budgeting in collaboration with the leadership team using fieldsteering.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of client industries, labor market trends and competitive landscapes to guide decision-making and Randstad’s position as a staffing industry leader.
  • Ensure appropriate business controls are in place to satisfy audit requirements and to protect customers and company assets

What you need to bring:

  • 5+ years business experience in staffing
  • 2+ years in proven success in a sales environment
  • Skill in cultivating enduring relationships founded on principles of integrity
  • Outstanding abilities in communication, presentation, and influence
  • Strong problem-solving and creative thinking capabilities
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • A history of outperformance
  • A Bachelor’s degree is advantageous
  • Proficiency using Google mail, calendaring and shared drives
