DevOps Team Lead
The DevOps Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of DevOps engineers to design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and automation frameworks. This role provides technical leadership, ensures adherence to engineering and DevOps standards, drives cross team collaboration, and supports continuous improvement of delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and support a team of DevOps engineers, providing technical guidance and career development.
• Own the planning, execution, and quality of DevOps initiatives across multiple product teams.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
• Collaborate closely with Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Product Engineering, and Security teams.
• Establish and enforce DevOps best practices, including IaC, Git workflows, observability, and release processes.
• Drive adoption of standardized DevOps frameworks, automation patterns, and governance.
• Oversee configuration and management of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), container platforms, and deployment systems.
• Embed DevSecOps practices by integrating security scanning (SAST, SCA, secrets scanning), dependency checks, container scanning, and policy-as-code into pipelines.
• Monitor team workload, define priorities, and ensure delivery within established timelines.
• Track metrics such as deployment frequency, pipeline reliability, MTTR, and environment stability.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence.
• Flexible to work in shifts
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Automation.
• 2+ years leading a technical team or managing engineering deliverables.
• Strong hands on experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud technologies (primarily Azure).
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, and containerization.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation, Pulumi etc.).
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Deep understanding of modern DevOps practices: GitOps, monitoring, logging, and security automation.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience implementing monitoring/observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, App Insights, ELK, Datadog, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
• Certifications in cloud (Azure preferred) or DevOps.
• Experience supporting globally distributed teams.
