This is a term position; length of the term will be discussed during the interview process. Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.

POSITION SPECIFICS

The Department of English at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for full-time teaching-faculty positions (non-tenure-track). The start date for these positions isFall2026

Duties include teaching introductory undergraduate in-resident courses in the Program in Writing and Rhetoric. 

These positions will be hired at the rank ofLecturer, Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Teaching Professor.Lecturers and Assistant Teaching Professors teach seven courses per year; Associate Teaching Professorsand Teaching Professorsteach sixcourses per yearOnsite teaching is an essential function of this job.

AMaster’sdegree or higher in English or a related field is requiredby the appointment dateRank and length of term aredeterminedby education and qualifications.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
