Who are Opus Teach?

Opus Teach is an education recruitment agency, wholly owned by Suffolk County Council, supporting over 200 schools and education providers across Suffolk and surrounding areas, including Norfolk and Essex.

We are currently looking for Teaching Assistants (TAs) to work with our partnered schools on a temporary, part time, full time, and ad hoc basis.

We have also been seeing a heightened requirement for TA support requests for full terms and academic year requests.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • be responsible for supporting students in allocated classes, ensuring equality of opportunity for all
  • help support and be responsible and accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in pupils/students' work and conduct in lessons
  • work collaboratively and effectively with learners and other school staff
  • take responsibility for safeguarding the welfare of Children and Young People within the school.

As a Teaching Assistant, you do not require any specific qualifications, however, experience of working with children within an educational setting is advantageous.

We will work closely with you to find exactly what you want and to ensure you get the most out of your work. We pride ourselves on building great relationships with all our teachers, support team members and schools to make the most out of each work opportunity.

Whether you're looking to work on an ad-hoc basis or seeking a longer-term contract or even gain work whilst looking for a permanent role in either primary or secondary school (or both), we will be able to find the perfect role for you.

If you have worked in any of the roles listed below (or similar) working as a Teaching Assistant with Opus Teach is often a great career step:

  • Teaching Assistant
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • Nursey Practitioner / Playworker
  • Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
  • Cover Supervisor
  • Children's Support Worker
  • Health Care Assistant
  • Nanny
  • Paediatric Assistant

Working on a 'supply' or ‘temporary’ basis is known to have a reputation or association of fear around available work. If you have found yourself wondering about supply and the benefits of this area of work, we would welcome the chance to speak to you about what we offer and how this could work for you.

We offer full employment terms to all our teaching assistants and provide you with the following:

  • A friendly and professional service
  • Flexibility and varied work opportunities
  • An easy-to-use booking system to enable full control over bookings
  • Dedicated Account Managers on hand to provide support and assistance throughout application and placements
  • A valid DBS (which we will help with)
  • Holiday Pay (taken over a 12-month period at a time of your choice)
  • Pension Scheme.
