Job Duties:

The Department of Counseling, Rehabilitation, and Human Services is actively expanding their department and developing a master’s in Social Work degree and seeking candidates for four Teaching Assistant/Associate Professor positions. These grant-funded, full-time, 9-month academic year positions, with opportunity for summer work/teaching may begin as soon as January 2027. Faculty in these positions will initially give primary focus on curriculum development, CSWE accreditation alignment. We are seeking candidates for leadership roles within the program to assist in the development of a part-time hybrid MSW program along with teaching within similar disciplines. Upon successful program launching, the faculty responsibilities will transition to a four-four teaching load during the academic year with opportunities for scholarship and service responsibilities, and opportunities for summer teaching for the remainder of the grant.

These positions are non-tenure track, reviewed annually with the intention to renew, contingent on grant funding, through September 2031. At culmination of grant funding and depending on program success, the faculty may be eligible to apply for a tenure track position, with potential for three years applied towards promotion and tenure, through the standard recruitment process.

A successful candidate will be passionate about program and curriculum development, committed to promoting the development of an equitable and inclusive learning environment, and familiar with CSWE accreditation processes. The Department supports a variety of contemporary teaching modalities including in-person, blended, and distance learning environments.

This position is supported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) through a subaward as part of a financial assistance award made to the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum/Required

  • Master’s in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program
  • Licensed or license eligible as a social worker in the state of Wisconsin

Highly Desired/Preferred

  • Enrolled in or completed PhD in Social Work or closely related professional degree
  • Two years' experience working in the social work profession with emphasis on macro-scale interventions
  • Ability to successfully teach in-person and online
  • Demonstrate ability to teach Social Work or closely related courses
  • Articulated interest in leadership roles and skills for successful leadership within the program (i.e. Program Director, Field Director)
  • Familiarity with curriculum development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with of the CSWE accreditation requirements and process
  • Demonstrated collaboration and partnership development across campus and in the community

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the development of CSWE aligned curriculum and program for hybrid instruction.
  • Work closely with involved stakeholders to ensure Social Work curriculum and program meet CSWE standards.
  • Engage in clinical practicum and internship site recruitment
  • Engage in student recruitment
  • Possible leadership responsibilities within the program (i.e. Program Director or Field Director)
  • Teach on campus and online Social Work or closely related courses
  • Provide on-campus and remote clinical supervision.
  • Uphold an environment that supports a culture of respect, civility, and collegiality.
  • Actively participate in professional social work organizations such as NASW, APHA, etc.
  • Provide student academic advisement and conduct assessment of student learning. This includes contributing to academic program assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement processes, in collaboration with faculty and staff.

INSTITUTIONAL OVERVIEW
