Job Description

Teaching Assistant (TA) - Full-Time

Village Behavioral Health is a psychiatric residential treatment center that offers a full spectrum of treatment options for children and adolescents ages 9-17. A uniqueness about Village Behavioral Health is that we use nature as part of our therapeutic process. We are nestled in Louisville, TN right on the Tennessee River spread out over 65 wooded acres.

This position will:

  • Work directly with teachers, assists with classroom management, schedule, lesson planning, working towards positive educational outcomes.
  • Communicate daily with staff members, parents, guardians, teachers, therapists, and/or administrators regarding Academic Plan.
  • Administer and grade assessments.
  • Plan/coordinate educational field trips.
  • Act as Substitute Teacher when teaching staff is out. Assist the Education Director with daily functions of the department.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, 7-year criminal background screen, finger print screen, MVR screen, work history and reference check.
  • Experience working in a behavioral health setting preferred.

Pay rate: $15.25/hour

Schedule: 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday
