Position

The TAswill work closely withtheinstructor torespond to students’ needs and concerns throughout the course, and to assess students’ work.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend all lectures.

  • Attend andparticipatein weekly 1-hr course meetingswithteaching team

  • Discuss the topics and materials for course with instructor.

  • Complete course readingsin order toparticipatein weeklylectures

  • Respond tostudents’ questions (including emails)pertaining tocourse materialand assessment

  • Correct student assessments ina timelyfashion in collaboration with instructor

  • Accountable for professional,timely,and confidential use andaccurateentry of student marks in theFSCI 500Grade Book in myCourses.


Qualifications

  • Strongcandidateswill haveexperience with engaging the public with science. These experiences may includecrafting science communication texts or podcasts,leadingorfacilitatingscienceoutreach activities,policy interventions,developingscience-related curriculaor other related activities

  • Completed undergraduate degree in science, education, arts,orotherrelated field.

  • Must havestrongorganizational skills and excellent communication skills
