
NYU Tandon is seeking a Teaching Assistant for MD-UY 2014: Foundations in Digital Culture, a 4-credit course surveying the historical and critical foundations of digital media art and culture, from Fluxus and net art to VR, bioart, and computational media.
Responsibilities
Work closely with lead instructor Ruby Thelot
Lead a weekly recitation section (~2 hours/week)
Support student learning and discussion of course material
Hold limited office hours / be available for student questions as needed
No course development or lecture preparation required
Applicants should have:
Familiarity with digital/new media art, critical theory, or media studies
Comfortable facilitating discussion-based sessions, crits and carrying out grading
Prior TA or teaching experience a plus, but not required
Details
Time commitment: 1.50 hours/week (recitation), plus minimal prep
Format: In-person at Metrotech Campus, Brooklyn
Compensation is in accordance with NYU's bargaining agreement with ACT-UAW Local 7902.
Schedule: Wednesdays 6PM - 7:50PM throughout fall 2026.
