A Teaching Assistant is a McGill Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment. Teaching Assistant Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM)

This requisition is for one yearlong position, at 90 hours total, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. Fall course dates are August 31, 2026 to December 4, 2026 and Winter course dates are January 5, 2027 to April 14, 2027. Effective dates of appointment for Fall are August 30, 2026 to December 19, 2026 and for Winter are January 3, 2027 to April 24, 2027.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Marking

  • Preparing Class Materials

  • Leading Discussion Groups

  • Assisting Students' learning

  • Attending classes (F26: Mondays from 8:35AM to 11:25AM & W27: Thursdays from 8:35AM to 11:25AM)

Qualifications:-

  • Ph.D. Student (School/Applied Child Psychology Program)

  • Advanced understanding of assessment and testing materials

  • Background in the subject matter of the course (prior successful
    completion of the School/Applied Psychology section of EDSP 609
    and EDSP 610 or equivalent)

  • Knowledge of French may be required
