  • Hours: Part time, 26.75 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, plus 5 hours MDSA per week at £12.85 per hour

Norton CEVC Primary School are seeking an EYFS/Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our welcoming and supportive school. We are passionate about developing every child to be the best they can be, whilst nurturing their excitement for learning and exploring the world around them. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our learners and contribute to their formative years of education.

You will:

  • work with children, individually or in small groups
  • work closely with the class teacher to maintain high standards of attainment and behaviour
  • demonstrate a secure understanding of the requirements of the National Curriculum
  • provide observations and evidence for assessments
  • liaise with teaching staff to plan and deliver classroom support
  • promote and encourage children’s wellbeing and self esteem
  • deliver interventions as appropriate to support the needs of the children in the cohort.

You will:

  • have experience of working with children in a primary school setting
  • be flexible and can use their own initiative
  • work independently and as part of a team
  • be willing to undertake a range of duties
  • be resilient, hardworking and self-motivated
  • adapt to suit the needs of individual learners
  • manage change well, and support pupils in a variety of situations
  • have high expectations of children’s behaviour and achievements
  • have excellent English and mathematics skills
  • possess initiative and the ability to communicate well with both teaching staff and pupils.
