Job Description

We are seeking a Teacher’s Assistant to join our growing team! If you are passionate about providing your patients with exemplary care, while being sensitive to their individual psychiatric conditions, you would be a great fit on our team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Set up adolescent room for supervised study and complete attendance logs
  • Distribute work sent to Compass homework e-mail
  • Organize each patients’ school work in color-coded binder, according to Compass teacher
  • Manage lockers in adolescent room, granting access only if patient needs school materials
  • Set up computers/tablets for patients, including inputing all passwords (kept confidential)
  • Lock up all technology when not in use
  • Alert adolescent team of any violations of technology guidelines, as needed
  • Keep a list of patients who are pulled by staff during supervised study (patient name/staff name)
  • Manage list of patients working with tutors and keep track of time allotted for each patient
  • Manage the Quiz/Test Binder: update table of contents and special instructions for each patient
  • Proctor quizzes and tests during supervised study
  • Communicate patient requests with doctors/nurses/therapists/teachers, as needed
  • Conduct safety checks on patients, as needed
  • Maintain patient privacy at all times (no last names/schools)
  • Collect all completed homework, quizzes and tests from patients (keep last names private)
  • Scan and e-mail completed work back to school contacts
  • Return the hard copies of completed work to patients with date sent to school
  • Keep completed quizzes and tests in Quiz/Test Binder until patient is discharged
  • Order school supplies and keep them organized in adolescent/ child group room
  • Submit billing sheets to Office Manager once patient is discharged
  • Mail all quizzes and tests back to school once patient is discharged
  • Update school contacts spreadsheet and billing contacts, as needed

You would be the ideal candidate, if you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to maintain patient privacy at all times
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple demands simultaneously in a fast paced and changing environment
