Job Description

Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School is seeking a qualified Social Studies Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year The High School Social Studies Teacher will have a strong desire to teach in a diverse, faith-based, nurturing environment. Candidates must be knowledgeable about current instructional strategies and be skilled at creating lessons with high levels of student engagement for students in grades 9-12. This is a full-time, benefit eligible, 10-month teaching position.

Essential Functions

  • Plan and implement Daily lessons for students based on school curriculum.
  • Manage all aspects of the classroom (including but not limited to: instruction, discipline, communication etc.).
  • Perform assigned teacher duties on a rotating schedule with rest of the faculty.
  • Attend all faculty meetings and in-services.
  • Participate in school community events (including but not limited to: graduations, award ceremonies, festivals, and open houses).
  • Communicate student progress with parents through in person and online systems.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in history. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of best practices and strong instructional and pedagogical techniques is also imperative.
  • Current MSDE certification.
  • Minimum of three years of experience (teaching middle/high school Social Studies preferred).
  • Experience in a Catholic School setting is preferred.
  • Must be comfortable with technology to include integration in daily lessons.
  • Must have a commitment to Catholic School education.

Pay Range: $50,000 – 60,000, Annualized
