Job Description

Monsignor Slade Catholic School, a Catholic PreK2–8 school in Glen Burnie, Maryland, seeks a passionate and child-centered 4th-Grade Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This individual will teach English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies. Rooted in the Catholic faith, our school is committed to forming the whole child academically, socially, and spiritually while serving a diverse community of students. The ideal candidate will foster a love of learning in the subject areas of ELA and Social Studies while upholding the values of the Catholic Church.

Essential Functions

  • Provides grade-appropriate instructional programs for students that adhere to the school’s philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Develops lesson plans with clear objectives aligned with the Archdiocesan curriculum.
  • Observes and assesses student progress, maintains detailed records of academic performance and student behavior, and communicates progress with parents.
  • Maintains an accurate and up-to-date gradebook at all times.
  • Communicates in a clear, professional, and timely manner with parents and colleagues.
  • Supports the mission of the school and the Catholic Church through instructional practices.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in elementary education, English, History, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Prior experience working with or teaching children preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of children’s literature and literacy development.
  • Alignment with and respect for the mission and values of Catholic education.

Pay Range: $49,000 - $65,000, Annualized
