Job Description
Co-teach a class of 20 students all subject areas in a self contained setting, emphasizing social-emotional development and leadership growth. This is a full-time, 10-month, exempt position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The school seeks and outstanding educator for Primer Teacher whose duties comprise:
- Partnering with another teacher to be jointly responsible for a homeroom of 20 students.
- Teaching Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies, SEL, and Leadership in an integrated curriculum.
- Participating in lunch duty and after school carpool duty.
- Writing progress reports on all students three times per year; co-leading scheduled parent teacher conferences four times per year.
- Attending divisional and departmental meetings, participating in professional development activities, observing/being observed by colleagues/administration and giving/receiving feedback.
- Collaborating with a teacher partner to continuously develop a strong social-emotional learning and leadership curriculum.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess the knowledge or experience needed to design developmentally appropriate lessons for students in Primer (age 6-7).
- Possess background knowledge in the developmental characteristics of early childhood/ elementary school children.
- Possess background knowledge and experience in teaching literacy, mathematics, and science in an appropriate way to early childhood students.
- Have the ability to support students in their acquisition and development of key habits of successful learners.
- Collaborate with other members of the Primer and Lower School teams to discuss and share recent research and national standards that have proven to lead to effective learning.
- Demonstrate knowledge of age-appropriate use of student-centered technology to enhance and support learning.
- Have 3-5 years of prior teaching experience with early childhood/elementary students.
- Have excellent communication skills (both writing and speaking) and a highly refined work ethic.
- Possess the ability to work as part of a two-member team that works side by side every day.
