UCP Charter Schools are a network of 8 PreK-12th grade schools for students with and without disabilities in Central Florida.
UCPs instructional approach is designed to reach every learner through customized instruction, technology integration, art integration, and project-based learning. Each UCP campus has a unique community feel, with low student/instructor ratios and inclusive classrooms where children with and without disabilities learn and grow together.
Job Summary
The PreK Teacher is the instructional leader of a classroom of 12-18 Toddlers – PreK students with and without disabilities.
Job Responsibilities:
Follows and applies all Danielson instructional framework protocols to provide best instructional practices to ensure learning for all students.
Planning and preparation.
Classroom environment.
Instruction.
Professional responsibilities.
Participates as an integral member of the IEP team, creating drafts for IEP goals utilizing data collected from the classroom, parents, therapists and other members of the IEP team.
Collect and use data to determine the effects of learning experiences on student’s development and approaches to learning and adapt as needed.   Maintains a portfolio with samples of students’ work, records observed progress, uses observational data to plan individualized and differentiated instructional strategies and appropriately follows Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Clearly communicates with families regarding students’ progress, actively involves family members in planning strategies for enhancing student’s progress and maintains a positive, collaborative relationship with students’ families.
Participates in team meetings/professional learning and school-based activities.
Maintains a classroom that reflects discovery and use of materials and is clean and well maintained. Harmful cleaning supplies and other hazardous materials are not accessible to children, universal precautions are used appropriately and consistently, and responds quickly and appropriately to all accidents/incidents including documentation.
Demonstrates attention to punctuality, attendance, deadlines (Individual Education Plan/Individual Family Support Plans expiration/review, progress reports, testing/assessment), compliance with policies and procedures, Code of Ethics, and exercises appropriate professional judgment and other elements of the Florida Educators Accomplished Practices.
Ensure and provide basic care giving duties (utilizing universal health and safety precautions) for students.
Applies local and state approved protocols integrating technology and making necessary modifications to media and technology to accommodate all students’ needs.
Integrates art into curriculum and learning experiences including necessary modifications to accommodate all students’ needs.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree (minimum)
Certification:
Florida Professional Teaching Certificate or Temporary Certificate or Statement of Eligibility:
Exceptional Student Education (ESE Endorsement)
AND
Birth to Age 4 (Toddler) or
Age 3 to Grade 3 (Pre School and PK)
and ESOL Endorsement
AND
DCF – 45 Hour Training (or complete within first 90 days)
Minimum Experience:
Prefer 1 to 3 years teaching experience
Prefer experience including ESE students in the general education classroom.
