Job Description

St. Alphonsus Preschool, located in Woodstock, MD, seeks candidates for a Preschool Lead Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year This is a part-time, benefit eligible position, working in the mornings from 8:30 am until 1:00 pm. This is for a Three Year Old classroom.

The PreK Lead Teacher will be accountable for the care and supervision of children. Their primary responsibilities are the safety and well-being of children in their care, but they also provide instruction and educational support in preparation for Kindergarten.

Essential Functions

• Leads the classroom staff to implement a program of instruction that adheres to the school's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
• Takes initiatives in the classroom, and prepares the learning environment daily, including centers and activities.
• Maintains a clean and organized classroom daily.
• Leads classroom management and orderly transitions.
• Uses positive words and actions in all communication and interaction with the students.
• Implements daily activities with children.
• Prepare crafts and activities.
• Prepare a learning environment daily including centers and activities.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.
• Assist with snack, lunch, and rest time.

Position Qualifications

• Minimum of a college degree and 90-hour child-care certification; able to be lead teacher qualified by the MSDE Office of Child Care.
• Required to have 2-5 years' experience
• Required to do all background checks and qualifications for the MSDE Office of Child Care
• An appreciation for young students and their families.
• Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Faith and the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools.

Range: $20.00, Hourly
