Job Title: Teacher of Psychology (Maternity Cover)

Start Date: January 2027 to March 2027

Contract Type: Full-Time, Maternity Cover (Jan to Mar 2027)

Key Responsibilities

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Teach Psychology across the school, including IB Higher & Standard Level, IGCSE, and foundational IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Individuals & Societies units, focusing on inquiry-based learning.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Faculty and the teaching team to deliver innovative teaching units that encompass the subject of Psychology across MYP, IGCSE, and IB Diploma levels.
  • Utilize inquiry-based learning strategies to enhance student understanding and engagement in the subject

Pastoral Care

  • Serve as a tutor for a group of approximately 15 students, supporting their holistic development through pastoral work.

Extra-Curricular Contributions

  • Actively participate in extra-curricular events and activities, either through personal interests or in support of student-led initiatives.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to collaboration and continuous learning within the teaching team.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Utilize the exceptional resources and facilities available to maximize student potential

Educational Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education), or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Psychology across the full age and ability range from MYP up to and including Year 13 (IB Higher or equivalent) is advantageous.
  • Previous full-time teaching experience of at least two years is desirable.
