In September 2013, The International School of Texas was founded by a group of 13 brave parents who shared a common vision of an exceptional education for their children: one that is marked by free thought, equal opportunity, and the development of our core values of Respect, Integrity, Confidence, Intellect, and Service. Over the years that passed, IST quickly outgrew its initial location and moved into a newly completed campus west of Austin. In August of 2024, we opened the doors to our new, state-of-the-art campus in the rolling hills of Bee Cave, and we launched our first cohort of high school students.
Since 2017, IST has been an authorized International Baccalaureate World School. The International School Texas is seeking a part-time Teacher of Middle School Mathematics or Mathematics Support Teacher.

This position’s primary responsibility will be to teach students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP). This position will join a team of highly qualified, motivated, and professional educators in our Secondary Division.

The primary responsibilities of this position include the planning and preparation of highly engaging, rigorous Mathematics lessons while documenting and tailoring instructional practices to best meet the needs of the students. Preference will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School.
The successful candidate must have experience teaching middle school. The successful candidate should have a strong belief in progressive education and have experience integrating curriculum with authentic, inquiry-based or project-based learning. This position requires an openness to new technology platforms and their integration into all aspects of the classroom.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, IST faculty have the opportunity to lead a variety of extracurricular and club activities that enrich the IST experience. From soccer and art clubs to robotics, coding, and cross-country, IST Trailblazers take their learning outside of the classroom through their participation in clubs and teams that enrich their bodies and minds.
