Role Accountabilities:
We are seeking an outstanding Teacher of English who is committed to delivering high-quality learning experiences and contributing to the success of our teaching centre. In this role, you will plan, prepare, and deliver effective English language teaching that responds to the diverse needs of learners and reflects different modes of learning. Your teaching will align with British Council Global Teaching Standards and will uphold the expectations of both the organisation and our students. You will monitor learner progress closely, provide timely and constructive feedback, and encourage learner autonomy while supporting continuous development and achievement.
A key part of the role involves engaging in ongoing professional development and performance management to ensure that teaching quality remains consistently high. This commitment helps maintain the British Council’s position at the forefront of ELT best practice. You will play an active role within the teaching centre by supporting its wider activities and contributing to the planning, evaluation, and enhancement of courses, materials, and services. Participation in staff meetings and collaborative work with colleagues will be essential to ensure that student needs are met effectively. You will also support local marketing and promotional efforts, contribute to excellent customer service, communicate clearly with students, and complete all teaching-related administrative tasks to the required standard while demonstrating British Council values in your daily work.
Building strong relationships with students and colleagues will be central to your success. You will help learners understand the British Council’s cultural relations role and create opportunities for them to engage with aspects of UK culture, both within and beyond the classroom. This role also requires a strong commitment to compliance, ensuring that all safeguarding, data protection, equality, diversity and inclusion, special educational needs, disability, and health and safety policies are consistently upheld.
