Why Holy Trinity

We are a Single Academy Trust. This gives Holy Trinity the independence and autonomy to do the best for the children in our care. We are proud to be part of the Calne cluster. Holy Trinity works closely with other local schools and Wiltshire local authority. You would be joining a dedicated and experienced group of staff. We take time to make sure that all new members of staff feel part of the team.

Holy Trinity is a popular, forward-thinking and happy church school. Our school serves the needs of the Wiltshire town of Calne. The school underwent a successful Ofsted inspection in January 2026 and has an excellent local reputation. Staff are very supportive of one another and work hard to maintain children’s superb attitudes to learning. We have excellent teaching across the school. Children’s attainment and progress is very good and standards are high.

Our vision- 'we want all of our children to leave Holy Trinity with a strong moral compass, God-given Christian values and a love of learning.'

Roles and Responsibilities

The role of Maternity Cover Teacher at Holy Trinity is an exciting opportunity. The successful applicant will have designated PPA time. Flexibility and time management are important attributes. There is an additional opportunity for extra hours during the duration of the maternity contract. These can be negotiated with the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will teach across the school covering PPA through the school. As a single academy trust, Holy Trinity is forward-thinking and outward-looking. We are driven to do the very best for the children in our care. We want all of our children to leave Holy Trinity in Year 6 with a strong moral compass, God-given Christian values and a love of learning.

The PPA teacher role offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills and contribute to the full life of the school.

We take staff wellbeing seriously, within the busy life of a primary school. This includes a report writing day for school reports and additional time given to support subject leadership when required. There are many opportunities for continuing professional development.
