Job Description

About Crimson Global Academy

Crimson Global Academy (CGA) is a world-leading online school with students in more than 30 countries and a teaching staff drawn predominantly from New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. Every one of our teachers is a subject expert, and our strong pastoral care network ensures students learn in a safe and inclusive environment.

Students at CGA study at a level that matches their academic competence rather than their age, which means a significant proportion of our cohort is working ahead of their peer group. Combined with curriculum flexibility, cutting-edge technology and the opportunity to accelerate, CGA offers an unusually rich environment for students with the drive to excel. Our academic results speak for themselves.

About the role

As Teacher in Charge of Commerce, you'll be the go-to expert for Commerce subjects, supporting the Head of Department to ensure students get a consistently excellent learning experience across all modes. You'll teach, mentor, and shape course content while keeping everything aligned to Pearson Edexcel International GCSE and A-Level standards.

You'll report to the Principal / Head of Department and teach 20 of 22 periods, with 2 release periods for subject leadership.

What you'll do

  • Teach Commerce classes and provide 1:1 tutoring in your area of expertise

  • Plan and deliver lessons fully aligned to Pearson Edexcel IGCSE / A-Level specifications

  • Maintain your course page in the LMS — content, lesson plans, and resources

  • Support the Head of Department with quality assurance, learning walks, and standardisation

  • Help develop, mentor, and onboard other Commerce teachers

  • Contribute to curriculum review, assessment planning, and exam preparation

  • Support post-exam analysis, interventions, and student progress monitoring

  • Champion digital pedagogy and best-practice sharing

  • Encourage student enrichment through competitions and Commerce-related clubs

About you

  • Qualified teacher with deep expertise in Commerce (Business, Economics, and/or Accounting)

  • Strong knowledge of Pearson Edexcel IGCSE / A-Level specifications, examiner reports, and mark schemes

  • Confident with digital learning platforms and online teaching

  • A natural collaborator who can support and develop other teachers

  • Organised, data-aware, and committed to high standards

  • Excellent communicator with students, parents, and colleagues
