Who We Are
Gateway Charter School is a Delaware public charter school serving students in grades K - 8. Our goal is to empower students who may struggle in a traditional school environment to thrive and reach their fullest potential by providing smaller class sizes, research-based strategies, and learning that is infused with arts-based instruction, in a community that promotes perseverance, compassion, and respect. What You Bring

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Education
• A valid and current license or certificate as an Early Childhood Teacher
• Commitment to helping each student succeed and reach their individual learning potential.

The Opportunity: - First-grade Teacher

• Deliver arts-integrated lesson plans in a way that captures the attention of students and keeps them occupied and excited about learning. •Seek to improve instruction as measured by student results; "If students don't learn the way I teach, then I must change the way I teach so that students will learn."
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and dynamic classroom environment for young learners.
• Implement research-based, experiential, and multi-sensory instructional strategies tailored to kindergarten students.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the developmental and academic needs of individual students.
• Use formative and summative assessment data to inform and refine teaching practices.
• Utilize technology to enhance instruction and engage young learners.
• Build strong relationships with students, families, and the school community to support each child's success.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive records of student progress and behavior.
• Provide timely communication to families through updates, progress reports, and conferences.
• Uphold classroom procedures and schoolwide policies to ensure a positive learning environment.
• Actively participate in professional learning communities and engage in ongoing professional growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and align with schoolwide goals.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
• Possess or be eligible for teacher licensure/certification in Delaware, preferably with endorsements in Early Childhood Education.
• Strong foundation in child development and early learning principles.
• Creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to foster a love of learning in young children.
• Skilled in classroom management, lesson planning, and fostering social-emotional growth.
• Familiarity with multi-sensory instructional approaches and arts integration is a plus.
• Effective communicator with the ability to build partnerships with families and colleagues.

Compensation and Benefits
Gateway Charter School offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with anticipated duties and prior experience. All full-time Gateway Charter School staff members are eligible to participate in the school's excellent benefits program.
