Job Description

St. John the Evangelist Catholic School, located in Baltimore County, is seeking a qualified, full-time Extended Day Care Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic school year.

The Extended Care Teacher will be accountable for the care and supervision of children during the period before and after the school day has ended. Their primary responsibilities are the safety and well-being of children in their care, but they also provide some instruction or educational support.

Essential Functions

  • Implement a program of instruction that adheres to the goals and objectives of the program
  • Follow state guidelines and complete required training accordingly
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding students, their families, and other employees
  • Supervise students at all times
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and school administration

Position Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma and willingness to obtain the 90-hour childcare certification
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Experience in a Catholic school setting preferred
  • Appreciation for young students and their families
  • Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic faith and the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools

Pay Range: $17.00 - $19.00, Hourly
