Job Posting Title:

Teacher - English Language Development - Itinerant - Castle RockProvides an educational foundation that allows each student to reach his or her individual potential. English Language Development (ELD) programming in DCSD provides instruction in English using a collaborative structured immersion approach, including coteaching at the universal level, and providing targeted and intensive language support as necessary. Serves every assigned Multilingual Learner (ML) directly and consistently in collaboration with staff to serve the strengths and needs of every ML. Ideal candidate will have experience with screening and evaluating potential Multilingual Learners’ language to determine eligibility for ELD programming. Candidates with experience using a wide variety of collaborative, translingual, and asset-focused instructional linguistic strategies are preferred.

ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Work is performed in a school or virtual setting. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):

Responsibilities:

Identify, plan for, and serve Multilingual Learners directly and consistently

Work some evenings as necessary

Travel between schools and programs

Administer/assist with administration of state and federal assessments for Multilingual Learners (ie: ACCESS for ELLs, CMAS, PSAT/SAT)

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Facilitate and coordinate multidisciplinary team approaches and problem solving to meet the unique strengths and needs of Multilingual Learners

Support teachers with programming related to identifying, planning for, and serving Multilingual Learners

Create and maintain MLPs for each identified Multilingual Learner

Identify and provide ELD related information / resources to educators

Collaborate with school personnel, students, and families

Craft instruction that meets the needs of each Multilingual Learner

Certifications:

Elementary Education Endorsement - Colorado Department of Education, Highly Qualified in Language Arts or related content (Secondary) - Colorado Department of Education, Teacher License - CLD or LDE endorsement - Colorado Department of Education

Position Salary Schedule Eligibility:

Hard to Hire

Licensed position salaries are set based on one of three salary schedules; General, Hard to Hire, and Specialist/Extremely Hard to Hire. DCSD will award up to 7 years of previous licensed teaching experience at the time of hire. Click HERE to view the current DCSD Licensed Salary Schedules*.

  • *All salary amounts listed on the schedules are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
