Job Description

School of the Incarnation is seeking qualified candidates for an in-person elementary classroom teacher (Grade 1) for the 2026–2027 school year and beyond. This teacher is expected to foster a faith-filled Catholic learning environment that recognizes the dignity of each person while demonstrating the skill and expertise to align, plan, and implement instruction according to the Archdiocesan curriculum.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and document weekly lesson plans consistent with curriculum guidelines.

  • Provide a grade-appropriate instructional program.

  • Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teachings of the Catholic Church.

  • Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times, as well as for classroom management using PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) protocols.

  • Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge, and engage students.

  • Establish reasonable standards for student achievement and update the electronic gradebook frequently.

  • Interact effectively with parents and respond to all communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.

  • Participate in faculty meetings, retreats, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities.

  • Actively supervise students at all times, including during arrival/dismissal, car line, recess, cafeteria duty, etc.

  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.

  • Integrate iPad and Smartboard technology effectively into a 21st-century classroom.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

  • Current MSDE certification.

  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience preferred.

  • Experience in a Catholic school setting preferred.

  • Must be comfortable with technology, including G Suite, Google Classroom, Smart Boards, etc.

  • Must have a commitment to Catholic school education.

  • Teachers of religion must be Catholic. Catechetical certification and/or a theology degree preferred.

Pay Range: $46,000 – $90,000, Annualized
