
TEACHER EDUCATION PLACEMENT COORDINATOR

BASIC FUNCTION
The Teacher Education Placement Coordinator serves as the liaison between schools, cooperating teachers, and students. The Placement coordinator finds placements for practicum students and student teachers, and processes and maintains documentation about placements.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
● Liaison with school administrators, cooperating teachers, and students to confirm practicum and student teaching experiences.
● Establish student-facing and school-facing protocols for completing background checks and confirm placements.
● Update and maintain spreadsheets with updates on student placements.
● Update and maintain documentation for licensure files.
● Maintain a spreadsheet with contact and other information about our history working with schools, principals, and cooperating teachers.
● Develop and maintain a placement coordination handbook of procedures and policies.
● Communicate reliably and regularly with students, Licensure Office Coordinator, Licensure Officer, and Program Directors about placement coordination.
● Troubleshoot with students, schools, and faculty when unexpected changes emerge.
● Join weekly, biweekly, and monthly meetings with the Teacher Education team
● Attend Teacher Education Workshops 2, 3, & 4 in order to get to know students and make sure information shared is consistent.
● Conduct make-up Teacher Education Workshops 2, 3, & 4 for students unable to attend the large-group meetings.
● Visit 2-3 classes per semester to touch base with students about their placements.
● Communicate expectations with schools and Cooperating Teachers.
● Review and analyze Cooperating Teacher survey data and report significant findings to the licensure officer each semester to share with the Teacher Education team.
● Create and distribute certificates of participation to Cooperating Teachers.

REQUIREMENTS:
● Bachelor’s Degree
● Work experience in K-12 public schools
● Be available to work ~26 hours per week, with at least 14 of those hours between 8am-4pm, Monday - Friday, to meet with faculty, staff, and students
● Strong communication and organizational skills
PREFERENCES:
● Master’s Degree
● Experience with digital spreadsheets
LOCATION:VTSU Johnson Campus, Johnson , VT
COMPENSATION:The budgeted compensation for this position is $25.00 per hour.
HOURS 15 hours a week for 9 weeks
