PRINCIPALS/DIRECTORS WILL POST IN OFFICE AREAS UPON RECEIPT

The Wirt County Board of Education announces the following vacancy for 2026-27 school year:

POSITION: Teacher, Business Education, WCHS & WCMS (Itinerant)

CONTRACT: 200-day employment term

Qualifications

• Hold or be eligible for a valid West Virginia professional teaching certificate with the appropriate Business Education/Marketing endorsement.
• Hold or be eligible for any additional Computer Science endorsement or authorization required for assigned courses.
• Demonstrate knowledge of business education, instructional technology, digital literacy, and career readiness.
• Possess effective classroom management, communication, and instructional skills.
• Meet all applicable West Virginia Department of Education and Wirt County Schools employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction aligned with applicable West Virginia academic and career and technical education standards.
• Teach assigned courses in business education, computer technology, entrepreneurship, marketing, personal finance, and business technology.
• Develop students' communication, leadership, financial literacy, and workplace readiness skills.
• Incorporate real-world business scenarios, projects, and career exploration.
• Provide instruction in assigned computer science and technology courses, as appropriately certified or authorized.
• Assess student achievement and use performance data to guide instructional decisions.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
• Collaborate with faculty, administration, families, and community partners.
• Support student participation in career exploration, leadership, and relevant extracurricular opportunities.
• Maintain accurate instructional and student records.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience teaching Business Education and/or Computer Science at the secondary level.

SALARY: Wirt County Salary Scale for teachers based on degree and years' experience
