The Edmunds School is seeking a passionate and student-focused educator to join our team and help support the success of students within Maine’s Education in the Unorganized Territory (EUT) system. This position provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit school community by delivering engaging instruction, supporting student growth, and helping create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative, and committed to supporting students both academically and personally while helping prepare them for long-term success.
This is professional services work in teaching academic subjects at the Edmunds Consolidated School, a state operated school in Maine. Responsibilities include preparation of age-appropriate instruction in all content areas, instructing classes and evaluating student progress. Work is performed under limited supervision.
This position is responsible for providing instructional services and academic support to students
attending schools within the Education in the Unorganized Territory (EUT) system. Responsibilities
include developing lesson plans and instructional materials, delivering classroom instruction, evaluating and documenting student progress, and implementing educational strategies that support diverse student learning needs. The position also works closely with parents, administrators, and other stakeholders to support student success and maintain effective communication regarding academic progress and classroom expectations. Additional responsibilities may include participating in professional development activities, supporting school operations and student supervision, utilizing educational technology and instructional resources, and contributing to a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
A Bachelors’ Degree in Education or related field.
Maine Teacher's Certificate for appropriate subject and/or grade(s) as issued by the Department of Education.
Maine teacher/principal certification (057) or ability to be certified for Teacher of Students with Disabilities, 282 certification, as issued by the Department of Education.
