We are hiring in Bronx, NY! Join us at Easterseals NY- Bronx Child Development Center for an exciting career as a Temporary Teacher Assistant for our Summer program.
What You'll Do
As a Teacher Assistant for our preschool program you will work under the supervision of the classroom teacher and assist in caring for the physical and emotional needs of students. You will supervise class when the teacher is involved in other activities and attend staffing and departmental in-service as assigned.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Aid the transfer of children to and from buses each day assuring all students are where they need to be at all times
Perform checks of children as they arrive at school to assure physical health and document any issues
Work as a team member with the teacher and other teacher assistants designing developmentally appropriate activities for children to aid holistic development
Prepare the classroom each day for activities planned
Maintain a clean environment at all times after activities
Participate in group activities for students
Work with individual students on activities specified in their IEP
Aid children as necessary during meal and snack times
Assure children transfer safely withing the building and to the playground and back- maintaining face recognition procedures at all times
Utilize PBIS and social/emotional learning strategies with all children
Help children regulate their behavior when necessary
Participate in meeting and staff development provided
