Job Description

Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School is seeking a passionate and creative full-time Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic school year. The Art Teacher will inspire students to develop their artistic abilities through engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction while fostering creativity, self-expression, and an appreciation for the visual arts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering art lessons, sourcing and maintaining classroom art supplies, and creating a positive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore various artistic techniques and mediums. The Art Teacher will also promote respectful collaboration and constructive interaction among students while maintaining an organized and productive classroom.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable integrating technology into daily instruction, including the use of Chromebooks and Google Workspace (G Suite) applications, to enhance student learning and engagement.

Essential Functions

• Provide grade appropriate instructional program for students in grades PreK-8 in the field of visual arts.
• Maintains an attractive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
• Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Course of Study.
• Uses relevant technology to support/enhance instruction.
• Maintains appropriate classroom management through positive behavioral interventions and supports.
• Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress in PowerSchool.
• Provides regular and consistent communication with parents, students, staff, and administration.
• Performs assigned duties when needed for the supervision of students before, during, or after school including lunch duties, recess duties, dismissal duties, and any other duties assigned by the administration.
• Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or higher.
• Current MSDE certification or able to obtain certification within 2 years.
• Knowledge of the Catholic faith preferred but not required.
• Must be comfortable with technology to include GSuite, Google Classroom, Interactive projectors, etc.

Pay Range: $47,000 – 65,000, Annualized
